She was a DJ, before she was a DJ. Undoubtedly Miss H.E.R. has taken the world by storm and has not looked back. During H.E.R. six-year eventful career, she has a resume worth bragging about. She has held various weekly/monthly residencies at popular D.C. venues, deejayed on live TV, soundtracked numerous corporate gigs, and made several club appearances in the D.C. metropolitan area. He then invited her to perform a set for his online radio show Scratch Vision that has amassed 10K members. She also performed a DJ set for a community event headlined by world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma and esteemed jazz bassist and singer Esperanza Spalding in the heart of D.C.’s Anacostia neighborhood. 4-7 PM DJ OUTLAW
Stephen Outlaw (aka DJ Outlaw) hails from Music City USA (aka Nashville, TN), but has called DC his home for the last 30 years. In that time, he's seen and been a part of the massive changes (especially within the music scene) that have made the city what it is today: relevant, vibrant, diverse, entrepreneurial, youthful, exciting, and music-loving.
His passion for music started at an early age and continues to grow each and every day. For Stephen, DJing has never been about promoting a music genre, political agenda, or self/other. He believes in the power of music to transform, heal, motivate, and build community. And you can hear that belief resonate loud and clear in his eclectic and dynamic musical selections which jump from funk, reggae, hip hop, house, electronica, afrobeat, latin, psychaledica, rock, punk, and more. Whatever the selections, DJ Outlaw is intent on spreading positive vibes, seeking real and honest connections, building community, and sharing often underappreciated/underheard music with his mixes. Find him at a neighborhood bar, club, backyard party, wedding, or in his home studio. |

born in dc, raised in Maryland. I love “digital crate digging” and finding new artists to incorporate in my mixes. We almost there! - mundomio |
